Avail today announced it has signed a 3-year contract with a major British book retailer for an online merchandising solution. The book retailer has operated an e-commerce store for more than 10 years, and has annual revenues in excess of 100 million pounds.
The solution, based on the Avail Behavioral Merchandising/tm; platform, will be used to generate and deliver personalized book recommendations in the online store, promoting the most relevant selection of books to each visitor, based on their individual taste and preferences.
The contract also includes the Avail Success/tm; package of merchandising services that extend Avail’s quality technical support with merchandising training, pro-active advice, and regular optimization workshops, provided by an experienced team of online merchandising experts.
“Online book stores were among the first in retail to introduce behavioral merchandising strategies. Still, 10 years later, even these sectors still have a lot of untapped potential from applying smarter, more personalized merchandising,” said Pontus Kristiansson, CEO of Avail.
